​Matilde Trocado has been developing her work as an author and theatre director, working mainly in Musical Theatre. 

Her original works  include shows such as Fénix (2022), Terra dos Sonhos (2017), Calcutá (2016), Comédia Romântica (2015) and Wojtyla (2010).As director, she has done  shows such as Jesus Christ Superstar (2023), Era Uma vez (2019), Once in Fado (2016), Eusébio (2016), Godspell (2015), and O Quadro (2012).

She has a Master's degree in Theater with a specialization in directing from the Escola Superior de Teatro e Cinema and is a PhD student in Performing Arts at the Universidade de Letras. She did acting training with Juan Carlos Corazza in Madrid, show composition intensives with SITI Company in New York, as well as specific training sessions and workshops at the Stagedoor Manor Performing Arts School and the Broadway Dance Center in New York.

The past year she was the artistic director of the central events of World Youth Day in Lisbon.

Currently, alongside the artistic direction projects she undertakes, she also coordinates the Academia do Palco, a Performing Arts school in Estoril that she created in 2018.
